can't every day be a holiday? …please?
Holidays are exciting and full of promise. It’s almost inevitable that when a major holiday has come and gone the reality of every day life takes over and I find myself in a rut…doubting everything about my situation. I looked to my calendar of holidays and saw that today is National Fruitcake Day. I can’t think of a more depressing holiday; well, I probably could…I just don’t want to.
Monday is New Year’s Day and I want to make this new year something wonderful. I’ve never really made New Year’s Resolutions before. This year I am going to give it a try. So, here goes…
In 2018 I resolve to:
Write something on this blog at least once a week
Celebrate a holiday (of any sort) at least once a month
Keep up with my health and work to improve it over the course of this new year
Be nice to myself
The last one is a big one. If I can accomplish that this coming year, I will have made vast improvements in my life and the lives of those that choose to share their lives with me.
I hope that you will help me stick to these resolutions. If you see me wallowing in self doubt, skipping the blog posts, or going on and on about the new fattening recipe that I can’t get enough of; remind me that I can get enough, I am good enough, and to sit down and write.
I will help you with your goals, too…after all, we’re in this together, right?
Here’s to a happier New Year. Now, go eat a fruitcake.Tags: cake, christmas, holidays, resolutions
